cadaver dog information

CCSC is not a registered Charity and therefore we can not issue tax receipts for donations at this time.

The Canadian Canine Search Corps (CCSC) is a Western Canada–based organization devoted to serving others through the specialized training of canines in human remains recovery. Our members volunteer countless hours each year, driven by compassion, commitment, and the belief that every missing person deserves to be found.

Cadaver dogs possess an extraordinary sense of smell and an unwavering desire to work, allowing them to locate human remains across vast distances, buried underground, or submerged in water. Together, each handler and K9 team trains and tests extensively to ensure they are prepared to serve with professionalism, care, and respect in the most difficult circumstances.

Our services operate on a cost-recovery basis because this work is rooted in service, not profit. Whenever possible, we offset deployment expenses through fundraising so that help is never out of reach.

We rely on the generosity and compassion of our community to continue this mission — bringing answers to families, supporting communities in times of loss, and ensuring that those who are missing are treated with dignity and never forgotten.
